La Casa Estudio

An analog signal chain and digital recording inside a Moorish villa among olive groves. Record your album where the mountains do the rest.

01 — The studio

The studio

With its breathtaking location immersed in spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada, La Casa Estudio is something truly special. Owned by Youth, the legendary producer of Killing Joke, The Orb, The Verve, Paul McCartney and Pink Floyd, it is the definitive 21st-century creative retreat and the perfect place to inspire your music.

Designed and built by Terry Ottley of Olympic Studios. The control and live rooms have natural light and 5 isolation booths full of backline, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors for daylight and sightlines. Many other spaces around the house can be used for recording.

The accommodation is private, secluded and luxurious, yet a short walk from the village of Albuñuelas and only half an hour's drive from Granada. The live room has wooden floors and a stone-walled area opposite the control room that works beautifully for recording drums and percussion.

03 — The house

The house

La Casa Estudio has a special atmosphere that lends itself to creating incredible work. It is a beautiful villa among olive groves, designed in a modern Moorish style, with bedrooms of different styles and sizes plus an extra guest house, so band and crew can live and work under one roof.

High ceilings and huge windows. A Moroccan courtyard, a lounge with an open log fireplace, a grand dining room, and a kitchen opening onto the balcony. Dazzling gardens by acclaimed designer Andy Sturgeon, whose Andalusian Garden won Best in Show at the Chelsea Flower Show and shaped the villa's grounds.

Outdoor pool, sauna and an artist's studio. There is also a well-stocked library — and Youth's personal vinyl collection.
